Fall in Love with Yourself this Valentine’s Day

With Valentine’s Day here, everyone has one thing on their mind: Love. Whether you’re experiencing new love, you’ve been in love for some time, or you’ve vowed to never fall in love again, it’s hard not to think about love February 14 when it’s being shoved in your face.

However, these thoughts of love always seem to revolve around someone else. This Valentine’s Day we want to encourage Nexercisers to spend some time thinking about the most important relationship in their lives – the relationship with themselves.
Emily TaylorEmily Taylor was facing a few hardships when she started using Nexercise on January 15, 2013. She was applying for jobs, facing the daunting idea of potentially having to pursue a PhD for more experience, and to make matters even worse, her home had just flooded.

While exercise can change someone’s life, the biggest struggle is finding a place for a workout in the daily grind. Keeping up with an exercise regimen is extremely difficult, and is the culprit behind millions of individuals giving up before they see physical results take shape.

Emily first found a place for exercise when she walked around a nearby shopping mall for forty minutes. From there, she began going to the gym for 30-60 minutes a day and fell in love with Zumba classes. Since August, Emily has logged nearly 750 miles either running or walking.

After a brief interruption from shin splints, Emily participated in her first half marathon- and then another, and another. Inspired by her love of Zumba, Emily now participates in ballroom and salsa dancing classes. And the latest activity she’s added to her roster? Swimming. Through her increased variety of activity, Emily has become happier, more motivated, and her confidence is through the roof. She began with simply walking, but now Emily is a workout fanatic.

What Emily learned through using Nexercise is what we want to encourage to all of our users. No matter what is happening in your life, there is never a better time to start taking care of yourself. Exercise comes in hundreds of forms, and there isn’t a prescriptive way to lose weight. Find what you enjoy doing and don’t be afraid to mix it up. The more you do, the better you feel.

This Valentine’s Day, we encourage you, our Nexercisers, to fall in love with yourself. After all, you are the most important person in your life and you always deserve the best you.
