We are happy to officially launch our “We Want to Hear Your Story” campaign with a heartwarming entry from Jessica I. of Regina, SK , Canada. For Jessica, rock bottom came the day she realized she had outgrown her size 22 pants. With a family history of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, Jessica wasn’t ready to become a statistic, so she decided to make a change. Jessica found Nexercise on September 10, 2013, and since then has lost more than 30 pounds. “But it isn’t just the numbers,” Jessica explained.  “It is how I feel. I have endurance. I have energy. I have more self-confidence. I receive numerous compliments every day about how good I am looking now. I wasn’t afraid to go to my yearly doctor appointment this year – and my doctor was, for the first time, impressed with what I have been doing this last year.”

Congratulations to Jessica!

I still remember when I was at the point of desperation. I weighed myself realizing I was 244 pounds and gaining more. I am 4’ 11” inches. I felt horrible. I looked terrible. I was not happy. I have been overweight since I was 12. Nothing I ever tried had worked. I felt like there was nothing else out there that could possibly help me feel better.

I began searching for apps the day I realized I was soon going to outgrow my size 22 pants into a size 24. That was rock bottom for me. I came across Nexercise and it looked interesting. I decided that maybe this would help motivate me to work out. I had come to the realization that it wasn’t what I was eating as I love cooking homemade meals and eat reasonably healthy, but the fact I do not exercise (besides two months of easy league softball in May and June). I downloaded it not expecting much but wanted to give it a try. That day was September 10, 2013.

There are so many reasons I joined Nexercise. The day I joined was already explained but I also have a family history of obesity, heart disease, and diabetes. I did not want to join that statistic. My dad had is first heart attack at age 39. I am turning 30 this year. I do not want that to be me in 9 years. I joined for so many reasons. I love life. I want to be there to enjoy it – not suffer through it. In November, my friend since 9th grade, who has also struggled with weight, joined me because of all the exercising posts I had be sharing to Facebook. She was skeptical at first but now we are avid Nexercisers and work out usually once a week together. We are currently working towards running a 5k.

Nexercise has impacted my life immensely. For the first time in my life, I feel good. I have energy. I am able to enjoy my job as a teacher more, as I can do more. I can get out and enjoy life. I have a better relationship with my friend and we enjoy all our moments together, that now include Nexercise. Nexercise works for me because it creates a desire to track my progress every time I exercise. It also makes me accountable to exercising every day. Especially now with friends on my Nexercise app, I receive that horrible message that says “So and so has exercised today, don’t be left behind!” This gives me the little more push to get to my goal of daily exercise. I love earning points and seeing myself progress from Beginner to Master. I love receiving medals – even if just for myself.

Nexercise has changed my life. I have tried numerous diets or fads. Nothing in 18 years has worked until now. All it took was adding exercise to my life and reducing portion sizes slowly of my meals. I don’t cut anything out – I am just smarter about what I eat every day and make sure that every day possible, there is at least a 30 minute tracking in Nexercise. I have currently lost 33 pounds with Nexercise. I began at 244 and am currently 211. But it isn’t just the numbers – it is how I feel. I have endurance. I have energy. I have more self-confidence. I receive numerous compliments every day about how good I am looking now. I wasn’t afraid to go to my yearly doctor appointment this year – and my doctor was, for the first time, impressed with what I have been doing this last year. All my health tests are phenomenal.

I feel ALIVE!

I owe my health to Nexercise and my best friend for motivating me to this point. I wouldn’t be here looking forward to losing another 30 pounds and hopefully more. And for once, it seems possible. Thank you from the deepest point of my healthy heart.
